I am officially playing possum, as far as the remainder of winter is concerned. According to the dictionary...
"play possum" #1 pretend to be asleep or unconscious when threatened (in imitation of an opossum's behavior). #2 feign ignorance. My takeaway lesson... I feel threatened by the lingering brown slush, dirty snowbanks and winter in general; therefore, I propose to feign ignorance of this season called winter and focus on spring!
And speaking of possums, can spring be far behind, when we find these hardy little souls venturing forth on a warmish winter day? These photos were taken by Steve Calef and I thank him for this wonderful contribution!

I'm with you. Just going to pretend it isn't so.
Awwwww, so cute. I found a little baby with a wounded foot on my patio recently. Love your new look here!
Those are great pictures Deb, glad Steve passed them along.

Bobbie ~ Soon the little backyard critters came resume their normal schedules... must be so tough just surviving the winter. I'll bet they're pretty anxious for spring!
Angie ~ Thanks! Hope that little baby manages to thrive, despite the bad foot. Re: the new look... just trying to make the old blog a bit more springlike! And, I guess it's a nod to Valentine's Day, as well!
Ralph ~ Thanks... I was glad to be the recipient of these Ipswich possum photos!
Your new header is beautiful and a lot prettier than the possum. I officially give you permission to refuse the rest of winter. Just don't even pay attention to it being there. Perfectly Ok by me.
They are so cute. Spring is close.
Anna ~ Thanks! Just doing a bit of spring redecorating. As far as winter? I'll just leave it laying there, beside the road, all dirty and forlorn.
Tina ~ I agree, although I know not everyone is a fan. Little pointy-nosed harbingers of spring!
