On February 13th, Valentine's Eve,
I cast my eyes westward and was rewarded
with the following six minutes of glory...
I cast my eyes westward and was rewarded
with the following six minutes of glory...
of the past week!
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Now, as for all the Valentine's plans
I laid forth in the last post...
all that stuff about hearts and flowers,
candy and wine...
which, in reality, was a stale, left-over Christmas
candy cane languishing on the store counter.
nor in that fig wine I never sipped.
The reason? These gloriously red,
Valentine's-Day-red Crocs...
perfect for running around the yard
with Lucy and for gardening.
You remember gardening, right?
and the sentiment I truly embrace!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Valentine's weekend!

Those 6 minutes were glorious indeed! And for the rest - just lovely. Even the stale candy. They don't look like chocolate canes. I had chocolate ones. But peppermint is good too. Your hearts for the doors are so lovely!
I hope you always have plenty of sunshine, as you always bring sunshine to the rest of us! Hope you had a nice day yesterday. Your sunset photos were wonderful. And those red shoes must have been a Valentine's gift in preparation for the upcoming gardening season! (Did you have a chance to write poetry this past weekend?) ;-)
Bobbie ~ Best sunset for a while! Those candy canes used to be peppermint, but are pretty flavorless. That's as close as I got to chocolate... at least it used to be candy (which I shouldn't be eating, anyway).
But, wait - you had chocolate candy canes? I never even heard of such a thing. My favorite thing as a child was the big, caramel-filled summer chocolate lollipops my Memere would give me. Mmmm!
Glad you liked my hearts!
Shady ~ You are a purveyor of sunshine, yourself, but thank you! Glad you enjoyed the sunset.
Nice weekend - lots of writing Sunday and today - a little poetry, but mostly serious stuff for classes and business. (You should see my cool, new business cards!)
As you see by the Corliss counter/candy cane pic, I spent the 14th elsewhere. The red Crocs? Well, you can guess where they came from... and from whom (me!). I'll be over for a visit, soon!
Love the sky in time lapsed frames. And LOL on the stale candy canes. :)
Angie ~ Glad you liked the sunset. Yes, it was quite a gala Valentine's celebration... dust up my nose from sniffing the silk roses and a mouthful of cellophane candy cane wrapper. But, at least I got me some purty red Crocs for spring!
Chet (I mean, Mr. Anonymous, or is that Mr. Euonymous?) ~ Got your comment, though you left it on the 12/22/08 post. I decided to answer it here.
Thanks for the nice note. I am looking forward to returning full time, this spring! Funny, how sooner or later, everyone turns up at the garden center... all the Corliss alumni. Sorry I missed you, but did enjoy our telephone chat.
Much success with your graphic design company and hand-forged English garden tool line. Sounds fantastic! ........ Deb
